​Ballard First Lutheran Childcare and Pre-School is dedicated to planting the seeds of love, hope and faith in the children of today so they may continue to grow in God's love and light. As a result, it is believed that these children will become self confident, sensitive, caring, independent and inventive children of God as they make the journey to adulthood.

​Celebrating over 45 years of excellence in childcare in the Ballard area. Serving children ages 1 to 5 years, from 7am-6pm, Monday through Friday. Teachers are dedicated to your children and their growth process, both academically and spiritually. We share a nurturing and loving environment in a home-away-from-home setting. Teachers' credentials range from Early Childhood Education Certificates, AA  Degrees, to a Masters in Early Childhood Education.

We have 6 classrooms in the Center:

HORIZON ROOM: Ages 1 to 2 years. The age of discovery and exploration. These children are beginning to gain verbal skills that will help them in their socialization with their peers. Plenty of hands on sensory activities abound!

SUNSHINE ROOM: Ages 2 to 3 years (until toilet trained). Self expression and independence encompass this class. Music, language, and creative play are part of this class, as well as building self-esteem and the joy of becoming oneself.

RAINBOW & SEASHELL ROOMS: Ages 3 to 4 years. The age of innocence. These children are becoming more independent in learning important life skills. They start to grasp the need for social interaction and cooperation with their peers. Some of their activities include music, dramatic play, art, science, storytelling and exploration. Beginning cognitive concepts are also discussed and practiced in these two rooms.

RAIN FOREST ROOM: Ages 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 years. This class continues in offering a variety of academic challenges. The focus is that learning is fun! More responsibility in being a daily helper is offered, as the children show developmental readiness.

CLOUD ROOM: Ages 4-1/2 to 5 years old (Pre-K). This room's focus is making sure the children are prepared for the Kindergarten experience through Math Their Way, Science, Spanish, pre-Reading activities, Art, and sensorial. Listening skills are sharpened, as well as much practice in the importance of following classroom rules. It is both an academic and nurturing environment. Our children leave confident and ready for the school year ahead.
